Elevated tees and greens, blind approaches and doglegs – not to mention typical links sea breezes, you would be hard pressed to find a more invigorating vision and challenge

Bernhard Langer, used part of the original layout to make the championship links course that exists today. In addition to preserving the history of the former golf course, Langer incorporated the natural features provided by the terrain such as the dunes, hills, and wild grasses. There are nearly a hundred bunkers through-out and the large, fast greens are often elevated. After a round, golfers can have a drink at the Jameson bar that now resides in the original house.

Dublin is a multi-faceted city, founded over a thousand years ago, owing its beautiful public buildings, wide streets and elegant squares to the 11th century, the capital’s heyday. You will see the famous Georgian Quarter of Dublin which features some of Dublin’s prettiest streets and houses from the 18th century, well known for their colourful doors. You will also see Parliament, O’Connell Street, Trinity College, and St. Patrick’s Cathedral (exterior).

Carton House – O’Meara Course om 11u00

Located only 14 miles west of Dublin City Centre, Carton House is one of Ireland’s greatest stately homes and the one-time ancestral seat of the Dukes of Leinster. Opened in 2002, the O’Meara explores the swooping pastures and tiptoes around ancient specimen trees on this magnificent estate. Feature holes include the 14th, 15th, & 16th – a pair of 3’s wrapped around a heroic par 5 – crossing the lazy loops of the River Rye. This genteel but challenging journey complements the more vigorous test on its sister course, The Montgomerie. Together they are a potent force, very different in nature but both abounding with class which is the over-riding feel of the whole estate.
